Forum posts for Death

By the minute
Posted by Palmer on Mar 15, 2004
I'm a 'by the minute' believer...but maybe it's just some easy way for people to process the fact that their loved one is gone by another way other than old age.

Saying 'it ws their time'could mean that the higher powers that be have deemed it 'their time' to leave the Earth.

Fate

Fate can kiss my fucking ass.

Fate applies to more than death, but I believe in general it's bullshit. I also find that some people use it as a convenient excuse for bad things that they just can't face up to.

I like to believe in fate, pretty much anyway.
I use it as an excuse for bad things that I just can't face up to. Heh, sorry.

I do actually believe that when it is someones time, it is their time. It gives me some solace when you hear about a kid dying and things like that.

In general I would have to say that I believe in fate. I don't believe that everything is attached to fate though. I just belive in fate in that certain important events are mapped out, one of these being death. I believe that you choose your own path though, it just doens't matter what path you choose in certain respects because the end result will be the same.

Fate?

Scene: 35 year old, morbildy obese man, never exercised, ate fast food every day. Dies of a heart attack.

Is his death because of fate? I highly doubt it. The death would be due to malnutrition, lack of nutrients, maybe bad genetics, because of avoiding healthy habits. If the same man were to lead a healthy life, I am betting he would not have died of a heart attack at such a young age.

Or would he? Would he have been the healthy, athletic type who dies suddenly of a heart attack seemingly 'out of nowhere', at the same time in life? Odds would be lower, but lets face it...this happens. I think everyone knows of a typically healthy person who seems to pass away from a medical condition which came on suddenly and cannot be explained.

Will we ever have answers to these questions?
