When you put the blank cd in, if you goto windows explorer, does it recognize it as being there at all? |

I'm using Windows 98. When I put a disc in (I thought it was blank),
it shows there are 15 i KB tracks. Huh? Then an error message
that says:
MMSYSTEM 262. THere is a problem with your media device. Make sure it is working properly or contact the device manager.
So who is the device manager and how to I make sure it is working properly?
(When I bought a new one, the message I always used to get said
"Insert media device" when I had done it. I've been reformatted since
then. Why me?)
Maybe it's a good thing I got suckered into Future Shop's extended warranty. Or is there something simple I can adjust.
Thanks ! |

Install Windows XP.
Heh, I've never had a cd rom problem like that. So not sure what would cause that. You said both programs are doing it, so can't be the software I don't think.
My other suggestion would be to rip the drive out, and put it in another computer to see if it works there. If it does, then it's a problem with Windows. If it works when you do that, you could also try just plugging it back and to yours, might recognize from scratch. |

That song is hot, I do agree. I also find Chris Isaak hot.
