I like this advice, Paul. I was clinically diagnosed with depression years ago, and am not ashamed of it, at all. I don't understand why some people are so shamed by it. Do what you need to do to feel happy in everyday life. Or at least not miserable.

One word of advice. If anyone out there goes on an anti depressant, and it makes you feel really messed up, it's probably not the right one for you. Work with your doctor! It can take years to figure out what works for you.

I think there are way more people who suffer/have suffered from depression then you'd ever guess, and part of the reason for that is that people don't talk about it. I think one reason people don't talk about it is because people who don't understand depression don't understand it, and think that it's like when their dog died or whatever. And maybe your dog dying could trigger depression, but being upset when you miss your dog isn't clinical depression. So I thought this was a good example for people to keep in mind.

Also, he mentioned NSYNC breaking up, so that was cool.
