Forum posts for Interesting reason for writing a tax cheque

Posted by c.smallz on Nov 16, 2007
I actually wrote a cheque like this last year.

In the notes it said "Please don't spend this money on the war in Afghanistan or to subsidize Bombardier" - I think the cheque was for $50 or so. After their review of my file, they somehow found more deductions and I ended up getting about $115 back. Hmm...maybe they couldn't confirm that guarantee.

I really like the premise of the movie Stranger than Fiction about how she only gives them the amount of the budget that isn't spent on the war in Iraq.

Heh, or you had a sympathetic person review your file. There are gonna people people everywhere that agree with such sentiment, it's not all groupthink out there supporting the line.
